Energy and Environmental Responsibilities

The City of Centennial has implemented an Energy Action plan through Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy program, outlining tangible steps for the City to move the community toward its energy efficiency and resiliency goals. Xcel Energy Partners in Energy facilitated a series of workshops with the Energy Action Planning Team, starting in the summer of 2018, to develop the plan. The planning team included representatives from Centennial’s municipal operations, libraries, park and recreation district, Colorado State University Arapahoe County Extension, and the community. Three important focus areas were identified in the process: Residents, Businesses and Community Facilities. Energy efficiency opportunities for each group are detailed on this page.

Electric Vehicles:

Fall 2020 I requested to have our City look into getting electrical vehicles for our fleet of vehicles. I am proud to say that we budgeted to replace a fleet vehicle in 2021. The City has already installed charging stations at the City Building for the public and our future fleet vehicles.
