04/17/2018: “Last night, at the request of Council Member Marlo Alston, the Mayor proclaimed the 4th Wednesday of every April as Denim Days to demonstrate the power of communities coming together to support survivors and take a stand against sexual violence. Denim Days is an international solidarity event to increase awareness about sexual violence, hold offenders accountable, support victims and heal lives. City Manager Matt Sturgeon has given his approval for City staff and contractors to wear denim on Wednesday April 25 in support of sexual abuse survivors.”
